Signature of the Universe / 2012
Original $1,875 / Acrylic on canvas 16" x 16" / Prints available. Description: From the tiniest subatomic particles, to the countless stars in the cosmos, to the copious forms of life, to the immense infrastructure of the universe, an astounding story has been unfolding and evolving from within a cosmic cocoon of possibilities for billions of years. Who or what set this story into motion? Is everything in the universe interconnected? What is consciousness and can it pervade all things? Can Life know the universe within? 'Signature of the Universe' was conceived from questions such as these. To simply enjoy a moment of imagining, something beyond the ordinary releases a unique narrative. The sweet nectar of possibilities emanating from explorative pondering unfolds into a mystical metamorphosis, and emerges finally to soar throughout the cosmos, swirling with live-giving energies and marking everything it encounters with the distinct signature of the universe within. This picture is worth much more than a mere thousand words. Your painting recognizes the moth's consummate ability to simulate many creatures and objects throughout the natural world. The allegory contained in Untitled/2012 illustrates the relationship between the smallest of creatures and the vastness of the universe, and you've accomplished this feat with such beauty and sublimity. Creation come full circle, and all within a space of two hundred and fifty six square inches. Amazing!
