Hector,

Thank you for your wonderul message. You've made my day.

I would think painting a galaxy in watercolor would be very challenging. I admire your ambition and hope you would consider sharing your representaion of M51 with me. Feel free to email a sample at lucyweststudios@gmail.com

Thank you for the kind comments.

Best of luck with your painting.

Lucy

Hi Lucy,

Long time no talk so I thought I'd stop in an say "hello".:)

Hope all is well and that you are still producing some beautiful paintings.

When do you think we'll have a colony on the Moon so that way we can mine some Helium 3 to use to go to Mars and beyond? I think given the cost and complexity of space exploration it will have to be a multi-national cooperation to make it possible and economicaly feasible.

All the best,

Matt Matherne - Ft Myers, Fl.

Dear Dan,

Your comments have touched me deeply. Thank you for taking the time to express your kind thoughts on my work.

It's good to know you're out there enlightening your students to the 'spirit of the image' (I like this phrasing very much), the world is rewarded with people like you :)

Lucy I was on Phil Plait’s Blog and saw your rendering “The Brush Strokes of Star Birth” I was astonished. I simply don’t have the words. I’m a corporate Instructor and I teach technician the art of color balancing and electro-mechanical troubleshooting of color reproduction equipment. One of the things I try to instill in them is to go beyond color management (RGB vs. CMYK) and to appreciate the graphics for its art. The mechanics of color are a science unto themselves but the art is the spirit of the image.

I’ve been following Phil’s blog for a long time now and have never posted but I couldn’t let you images go without saying something, so thank you for shearing you spirit with us and lightening our lives a bit.

You are an amazing talent.

Els,

Your wonderful comments sent me to the moon!  Van Gogh was such a stirring inspiration for me as a young artist. At times I speak of him in present tense because his vibrant energy still effects the planet in profound ways :)

I look forward to seeing your work. Please feel free to email me a sample at lucyweststudios@gmail.com

Thanks for joining LWS, its so nice to have you as a memeber.

I am very much impressed how you paint those wonderful space images. I think that if Vincent van Gogh would be alive today and saw your paintings, he would go out of his mind......again!!

Hi Mario.

I believe Paul Fjeld is okay and recovering. It may be that it wasn't a heart attack but a heart related issue.

Spacefest was absolutely out of this world! (pun not intended). Its true that a couple of artists and speakers had to cancel, but the show was spectacular none the less. The line-up of astronauts, speakers, artists and vendors was top notch. Kim and Sally Poor put together a fantastic show!

I did sell some of my work, I said goodbye to "Pinwheel Galaxy M101" and "Star Path" and theya re on their way to happy homes.  I'm so happy to report that my "Orion Nebula M42" placed  'Best in Show'! For my first Spacefest, I have to say, it was 100 times better than i could have imagined. I met my mega-hero Alan Bean, who had a hand in inspiring my direction as a space artist. It was an amazing thing to walk up to many of the Apollo astronauts and shake hands and get to know them, very bright, kind individuals, all of them.

Thanks for inquiring about my time in Tucson. I hope you can attend next year. I highly recommend it :-)

What are your latest projects? Please share here and post a sample if you like. Your work is beautiful, Mario.

Hello Lucy!

I hope all went well at Spacefest IV. I linked to the site and noticed many pre-show changes, including the fact that one of the artists, Paul Fjeld, had suffered a heart attack and that three guest speakers cancelled their engagements. With all that happening was the event a go, and were you able to sell some of your work?

Best regards,

Mario

Hello Lucy! Hope all is well. Thank you for posting your comment on my blog post "A Few Nanoseconds in Cosmic Time." Your comments always do a heart good and you know I value your opinions highly. You've titled "Signature of the Universe" perfectly. A beautiful and yes, truly "Universe"[al] cycle of  life allegory. Another master stroke! I see that you are back at the easel creating modern day masterpieces. The power and sheer beauty of "The Freedom of Dreaming" are totally breathtaking! Everything you stated in the "Artist note" is as insightful and soulful a description as I've ever read. You are a superb allegorist and a master of your art. Everything you create is this way. Best regards, Mario

Hello Lucy,

Thank you for sharing 'Exotic Beauty NGC 474" - it's absolutely spectacular.  Ripples in Pisces - "whimsically apropos" indeed! Which brings me to ask: What did the ancient astronomers, who named the constellations, know that we are recently discovering? Perhaps everything.

I went to the CFH site as well. There I noticed the galaxy NGC 5557 and observed a remarkable likeness to a fractal generating set - especially when zoomed in.

"Space Quest" is a fascinating place, as is your entire website. So filled with beauty and wonderment that it is truly a feast for the eyes - and ears. When I get my site up and running "Lucy West Studios" will be the and the top of the links column.

Best regards,

Mario

Dear Dwayne,

Thank you for sharing your kind thoughts and for joining me on the road of dreams and wonder....you have left me speechless.

It's so fine to meet an artist who taps into the inner reaches of my far-away dream visions. Truly inspiring for me. You've brought to the surface my awe for the stars and my longing to understand, who are we? where did we come from? and...where are we going?

Thank you for daring to be yourself. You represent the farthest vision human kind has to offer.
